BQ Hephestos 2: A DIY printer with professional results.
This printer is our second DIY (Do it yourself) printer. Hephestos is based on Prusa i3. One of the most popular models in the RepRap community, but this new version represents a breakthrough. Offering a professional printer that can keep intact, at the same time, the original spirit. They have bet on a new design that allows you to get a larger print volume, equal to (x)210mm x (y)297mm x (z)220mm.
BQ Hephestos 2: Materials and design, keys to stability.
Hephestos 2 is a particularly stable printer. To achieve this, we have replaced plastic parts with metal parts. The use of aluminium and steel provides a professional finish and a robust construction. These materials are combined with semi-transparent polymethacrylate pieces that protect certain components and give a glimpse of the printer’s internal mechanism. Also has three support points and a telescopic foot that moves along the z-axis to adjust the height and stabilize the printer.
