Christmas is just around the corner, as every year you find yourself in a blink of an eye decorating your house and preparing packages for relatives and friends. In this the 3D printing can inspire us and allows us to make small presents, cheap and personalized.
The amount of models on the various warehouses of 3D objects gives us a huge choice of Christmas ornaments with which to decorate home or the packages that we will give as a gift.
In this article I wanted to collect a series of models, which in my opinion are the most beautiful, easy and fastest to print by Christmas! This way, 3D printing can be a real added value! I will put some illustrations with my prints and for your convenience also the link to Thingiverse, site where these models were taken.
BEFORE WE START
Before we’re going into the decorations for the Christmas tree, we should consider right filament for that kinds of prints. All decorations have been printed with a special filament. This filament look like designed especially for Christmas! Is available in many colors (green, white, red, blue, gold, silver, etc) and differs from normal PLAs thanks to the brighter and “shiny” composition given by a large dose of glitter! This particular mix, transports us already in the atmosphere of the festivities.
Here you can find colors: Red, light blue, gold and silver, here: Dark blue, Black, gold and silver, here: Pink, you can also make awesome decorations using multiple colors filament! Just like photo down here.
The various decorations were printed without any particular care, at 60 mm/s, some with ventilation, others without, however, without noticing great differences. The only difference between the colours was the extrusion temperature. The green and red were printed at 210°, while for the white I had to go up to 225°.
Let’s start with the two-dimensional decorations:
