The Wanhao Duplicator 6 is an absolute novelty, because it offers the possibility of making objects of any kind really perfect and with a high speed: the maximum speed on the xy axis is 300 mm/sec.
For this 3D printer, we’re talking about a print volume of 7.8 litres. Wanhao D6 can be connected to the PC via USB interface or with an SD card. The printable materials are: ABS, PLA, HIPS, PETG and PC.
Let’s start with the . Thick printed aluminum, I think powder coated (because aluminum is difficult to paint otherwise). It’s simply flat, and it’s as solid as a rock.
It is also one of the most beautiful printers so far produced by Wanhao.

Z movement with bearings above and below the plate, with ribbed reinforcements, is the best of Wanhao so far.
The new direct extruder head and the new MK11 hotend (compatible with MK10 nozzles) are exceptional.
I also like the setting of the cooling fan, both for the hot end and the cooling fan of the printer.

The electronics and firmware are clear. Even if they have not shown the source code, there is no hurry to update it. It works without problems.
The LCD display is bright and high contrast. It is very, very nice.
The integrated power supply is very good (VS the Power Brick series D5).
The LED lighting is well controlled by firmware with a lot of options that I think will really like. You can darken it, turn it on or off.
The full-size front SD card slot is also easy to use but also safe and undamaged.
The USB at the back is in a great location, next to the power supply and is a full sized port. No more broken mini connectors like on the i3!
The flexible headband cable is a big move.
The single board electronics surpass all my desires and needs. It’s a solid design.
